SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 18/04/2011, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Art. 4
of Council Regulation (EC) No. 1139/2004 by which the undertaking ArcelorMittal Bremen GmbH (“ArcelorMittal Bremen”, Germany), controlled by ArcelorMittal S.A. (“ArcelorMittal”, Luxembourg), acquires within the meaning of Article 3 (1) (b) of the Council Regulation control of
the whole of the undertaking Kokerei Prosper (“Kokerei Prosper”, Germany) by way of purchase of
assets. At the same time, ArcelorMittal Bremen intends to acquire 27.95 % of the shares in Arsol
Aromatics GmbH & Co. KG (“Arsol”).
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
-- for ArcelorMittal : production and sale/distribution of steel products and mining,
-- for Kokerei Prosper: production and sale of coke and by-products of the coke production
process.
