SECTION 1.2

Description of the concentration

On 28 October 2020, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 by which BB Holding Investment S.A. shall acquire sole control over Duferdofin-Nucor S.r.l. and its subsidiaries, previously jointly controlled together with Nucor European Holdings BV.

BBH Group is a diversified group which includes companies active in the energy, steel and shipping sectors. In the steel sector, BBH Group is primarily active in the trading/distribution of steel products.

The Target is located in Italy and is active in the markets for the production and distribution of carbon steel semi-finished products, such as blooms, billets and rounds, and finished long products, in particular heavy sections (beams).
