SECTION 1.2

Description of the concentration

On 10 February 2023, the European Commission received a notification pursuant to Article 4 of the Merger Regulation of a proposed concentration by which Renault, a French multinational automobile manufacturer, and Minth, a Chinese automotive parts supplier, will set up a joint venture based in France for the manufacturing and sale of battery casings for electric vehicles (EVs).

The purpose of the Joint Venture is to create a new player in the manufacture and supply of battery casings for EVs and to contribute to the EU's strategy of mobility decarbonation.
