On 19 November 2019, the Commission received notification of a Proposed Transaction pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 by which GeoPost, a subsidiary of the La Poste group intends to acquire, by way of purchase of shares, sole control within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EU Merger Regulation of BRT S.p.A, that it has so far controlled jointly with Mifin.
GeoPost is headquartered in France. It is active in most of the EEA as well as in a number of other European, African and Asian countries. GeoPost is a subsidiary of the La Poste group, the French historical postal operator.
BRT is headquartered in Italy and most of its activity is in Italy. BRT is jointly controlled by GeoPost and by Mifin, a holding company ultimately controlled by individuals.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
