SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
1.This notification concerns the creation of a full-function joint venture between the group La Poste (“La Poste”) and the group Swiss Post (“Swiss Post”). The joint venture will combine both parties’ cross border mail activities throughout the world, except for the inbound and outbound mail activities currently carried out by La Poste in France and Swiss Post in Switzerland.
2.La Poste is a public postal operator and the designated universal service provider in France. It is active in mail, express, parcel and banking services.
3.Swiss Post is the public postal operator of Switzerland. Swiss Post is active in mail, express and parcel services, as well as financial services and passenger transport.
