SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
1.1. The notified concentration concerns the proposed acquisition by State Grid International Development Limited (“SGID”) and the Hellenic Republic of joint control of International Power Transmission Operator S.A. (“IPTO”) within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EUMR.
2.2. SGID is incorporated and headquartered in Hong Kong, China, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of State Grid Corporation of China (“SGCC”). SGID is primarily engaged in the investment and operation of regulated electricity transmission and distribution businesses outside of the People’s Republic of China.
3.3. IPTO is incorporated in Greece, with headquarters in Athens. IPTO is the transmission system operator of the Greek electricity transmission grid and is responsible for its operation, maintenance and development.
