SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
Pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004, Edison S.p.A. (ìEdisonî) has notified to the Commission its intention to acquire sole control over Eneco Energia S.r.l. (ìEnecoî). The notified transaction qualifies as an ìoperation of concentrationî within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004.
Edison is an Italian public company active in the generation, transmission and supply of electricity, the production of hydrocarbons, and the exploration, production, transportation, distribution and supply of natural gas. Eneco is an Italian company active in the retail supply of electricity to non-regulated customers.
