Description of the concentration
On 16 November 2012, the Commission received a notification pursuant to Article 4(2) of Council Regulation (EC) 139/2004 in relation to the proposed acquisition of sole control of Slovenský Plynárenský Priemysel a.s. by Energetický a Průmyslový Holding a.s.
Energetický a Průmyslový Holding a.s. is mainly active in the heat and electricity sector in the Czech Republic with some minor activities in the gas sector in the Czech Republic.
Slovenský Plynárenský Priemysel a.s. is active in the distribution and sale of natural gas in Slovakia. SPP has some minor activities in the gas sector in the Czech Republic. SPP is also engaged in the electricity sector in Slovakia. Through subsidiaries, it also operates the gas transmission and distribution pipeline system in Slovakia.
