SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
1.This notification relates to the proposed acquisition of joint control between Access Industries Group, U.S. (“Access”) and ProChemie Holding Limited, Jersey (“PCH”) over LyondellBasell Industries AF S.C.A., Luxembourg (“LBI”).
2.Access comprises a group of holding companies active principally in the oil, petrochemicals, coal, aluminium, power and real estate sectors.
3.The PCH group is active in (i) the manufacture of small arms systems and supply to NATO countries and their respective government agencies; (ii) the development and manufacture of defence and security products; (iii) the manufacture and supply of lawn mowers, garden tools and lawn care products; and (iv) the operation of and trade in executive aircrafts.
4.LBI is a manufacturer and supplier of polymers, fuels and chemicals.
