SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
The notified concentration consists of an acquisition by TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a. s. (“TZ”) of ŽDB DRÁTOVNA a.s. (“DRÁTOVNA”) which shall emerge as a result of spin-off transaction by de-merger of ŽDB GROUP a.s. of its wire mill as a part of the enterprise.
The transaction is conditioned upon obtaining clearance from the European Commission.
TZ is a Czech based producer of wire rod and other hot-rolled long steel products (i.e. bars and rails), semi-finished products (such as blooms or billets), hot-rolled universal wide steel, seamless tubes and drawn and peeled steel (e.g. cold-drawn wire and peeled steel bars).
DRÁTOVNA deals in the area of production and distribution of cold-drawn wire and drawn-wire products, i.e. ropes, cords, springs and wire fabrics and nets, and also offers drawing dies from sintered carbides.
