SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 16 December 2009 New York based JARDEN Corporation announced that it executed a
put option agreement to acquire sole control of Paris based TOTAL SA’s home care and baby
care business. JARDEN Corporation is a provider of consumer products used in and around
the home, operating in four primary business segments, Outdoor Solutions, Consumer
Solutions, Branded Consumables and Process Solutions. TOTAL SA’s home care and baby
care business consists in the manufacture and sale of (1) home care products such as gloves,
sponges, wiping and cleaning tools as well as (2) baby care and health care products such as
teats, soothers, feeding bottles, accessories, and condoms.
