SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 6 September 2021, the Commission received notification of a proposed transaction pursuant to Article 4 of the Merger Regulation by which Hellman & Friedman LLC (H&F) will indirectly acquire, within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Merger Regulation, sole control of zooplus AG, Germany (zooplus), by way of launching a voluntary public takeover offer.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
• For H&F: private equity firm with investments in a variety of sectors worldwide.
• For zooplus: retail sale of pet supplies through localized web shops across Europe.
