SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 23 February 2010 the Commission received notification of a proposed concentration
pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) 139/2004 by which Kohlberg Kravis
Roberts & Co, L.P., acting through affiliates, should acquire within the meaning of Article
3(1)(b) of the Council Regulation joint control of the food flavourings business of Wild
Group.
The primary business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
(i) For Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co, L.P.: asset management and private equity investment
(ii) For the Wild Group: production of natural ingredients for the food and beverage industry (including food flavourings), production and sale of specific beverages, and supply of industrial technologies to the food and beverage industry
