By his action under Article 279 TFEU, the applicant seeks, in essence, that the European Parliament be ordered, first, to dispense with the two-year latency period provided for in Article 11(2) of Regulation (EU, Euratom) 2021/1163 of the European Parliament of 24 June 2021 laying down the regulations and general conditions governing the performance of the Ombudsman’s duties (Statute of the European Ombudsman) and repealing Decision 94/262/ECSC, EC, Euratom (OJ 2021 L 253, p. 1), and, second, to grant him a period of thirty days to find a sufficient number of Members of the European Parliament prepared to support his nomination or the possibility of putting forward his candidacy directly with a view to the election of the European Ombudsman in 2024.
