SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
The Commission has received on 8 January 2009 a notification on behalf of Rabobank International Holding B.V. (“Rabobank”) with respect to a concentration which will put Rabobank in a position to exercise sole control of Bank Gospodarki Żywnościowej S.A. (“BGZ”, Poland), an undertaking jointly controlled by Rabobank and the State Treasury of the Republic of Poland prior to a change in its rules of governance.
BGZ and Rabobank are active in the banking sector.
