SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 05 January 2017, the Commission received notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004, by which Sumitomo Rubber Industries Limited ("SRI"), will acquire, within the meaning of Article 3(1), Micheldever Group Limited ("Micheldever").
The business activities of the Parties to the concentration are:
SRI: the manufacture and production of tyres and the sale of tyres to OEMs and to wholesale outlets. SRI also manufactures certain sports and industrial goods.
Micheldever: the wholesale and retail sale of tyres through warehouses and the Protyre retail chain. Micheldever also offers automotive repair services at a retail level.
