SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 20 April 2010 the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration
pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004 by which the undertaking
Eni S.p.A., Italy ("ENI") acquires sole control, within the meaning of Article 3 (1) (b) of
the Council Regulation, over Mobil Oil Austria GmbH, Austria ("Mobil Oil Austria"), by
way of purchase of all of its shares.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
• for ENI: in particular exploration and production of oil, transportation of
natural gas and gas pipeline management, fuel retailing, non-retail sales of
fuels, airport fuel services, sales of lubricants; and
• for Mobil Oil Austria: in particular fuel retailing, non-retail sales of fuels, sales
of automotive lubricants, airport fuel services, jet fuel sales, and storage of
refined oil products.
