SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
The U.S.-based private investment firm Fortress Investment Group LLC, ("Fortress") intends to acquire within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EC Merger Regulation sole control of the UK company, telent plc ("telent"), by way of purchase of shares.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
! for the undertaking Fortress: alternative investment and asset management for a diverse group of institutional and private investors;
! for the undertaking telent: broad range of communications support services to telecommunications operators, large enterprises and public sector agencies.
This case is a candidate for notification in Short Form in accordance with the conditions specified in Annex II of Commission Regulation (EC) No 802/2004 of 7 April 2004 implementing Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 on the control of concentrations.
