SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 16 August 2013, the European Commission (“Commission”) received the notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of the EU Merger Regulation by which Vodafone Group Plc ("Vodafone") would acquire sole control over Kabel Deutschland Holding AG (“Kabel Deutschland”) within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EU Merger Regulation.
The primary business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
• Vodafone: provision of mobile and fixed telephony and broadband services globally;
• Kabel Deutschland: provision of television, broadband cable and telephony services in Germany.
