SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 24 April 2019, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004 (“EUMR”) by which Evonik Industries AG (“Evonik”) will indirectly acquire sole control of PeroxyChem Holdings L.P (“PeroxyChem”) within the meaning of Article 3 (1) (b) of the Merger Regulation.
Evonik is active in the production and marketing of specialty chemicals, focusing on products in the areas of nutrition and care, resource efficiency and performance materials.
PeroxyChem is a globally active manufacturer of hydrogen peroxide, persulfates and peracetic acid. In addition, PeroxyChem is active in the resale of sulphur derivatives.
