SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
The notified concentration involves the proposed acquisition by the Triton group (“Triton”) of sole control of Sunweb Group (“Sunweb”) (the “Proposed Transaction”) within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EU Merger Regulation.
Triton is a group of independent European private equity funds and companies. Triton is dedicated to investing primarily in medium-sized businesses headquartered in Northern Europe, with a focus on businesses in three core sectors: Business Services, Industrials and Consumer/Health.
Sunweb is a consumer-centric European online tour operator, providing packaged holidays to 20+ focal destinations across Europe and the Mediterranean. Founded in 1991, Sunweb is headquartered in Rotterdam and has tour operating activities conducted out of Switzerland.
