SECTION 1.2

Description of the concentration

On 29 April 2008, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4, following a referral request pursuant to Article 4(5) of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 by which the Swedish undertaking Ålö Intressenter AB acquires, within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Council Regulation by way of a share transfer agreement, sole control of the whole of the French undertaking Mailleux S.A.S.

Ålö Intressenter AB, through its wholly-owned operative subsidiary Ålö AB, develops, manufactures, markets and sells front loaders and implements for front loaders for farm tractors. Ålö AB has production facilities in Sweden, Denmark and France from where the company exports its products throughout the world.

Mailleux S.A.S. specializes in the conception, manufacturing and distribution of handling and lifting equipment for farm tractors, e.g. front loaders, implements for front loaders, front linkages and rear hitches. Mailleux S.A.S. currently has its production facility in France from where the company exports its products throughout the world.
