SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
1.On 13 August 2008, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004 by which Lion Capital LLP (“Lion Capital”, The United Kingdom) acquires within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of Council Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004 sole control of the undertaking Foodvest Equity Co S.A. and of its subsidiaries (“Foodvest Group”, The United Kingdom) by way of purchase of shares.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
• for Lion Capital: private equity investor;
• for the Foodvest Group: processing and distribution of food products, serving the retail and food service sectors.
