SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
1.The notified concentration concerns the acquisition by investment funds advised by Apax Partners LLP ("AP") of a majority stake in the Rodenstock Group. Accordingly, the Transaction will result in the acquisition by AP of sole control over the Rodenstock Group within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the Merger Regulation.
The areas of activity of the undertakings concerned by the Transaction are as follows:
a. AP - a provider of investment advisory services, headquartered in London, the UK;
b. Rodenstock Group - a supplier of ophthalmic lenses, as well as – to a minor extent – of optical frames, sunglasses, ophthalmic substrate and ophthalmic equipment, headquartered in Munich, Germany.
