SECTION 1.2

Description of the concentration

On 09/04/2013, the Commission received the notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of the EU Merger Regulation by which AB Volvo (Pubi) (“AB Volvo”) will acquire joint control, within the meaning of Article 3(1 )(b) of the EU Merger Regulation, over Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles Company Limited (‘DFCV”), a company under the sole control of Dongfeng Motor Group Company Limited (“DFG”), by way of purchase of shares.

The core business activities of the undertakings concerned are:

For AB Volvo: production of trucks, buses, construction equipment and marine and industrial engines.

For DFG: production of trucks, buses, passenger cars, automotive engines, automotive components and parts and vehicle manufacturing equipment.

For DFCV: production of trucks, buses, engines, axles and transmissions.
