Description of the concentration
On 16 August 2019, Engie, S.A. (“Engie”) notified a transaction whereby it intends to acquire sole control of Powerlines Group GmbH (“Powerlines”) within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EC Merger Regulation by way of purchase of shares.
Engie is an industrial company active in the fields of gas, electricity and energy services. It is active throughout the entire energy-value chain.
Powerlines is active in rail electrification and overhead line solutions mainly in the United Kingdom, Germany and Austria and is active in energy transmission and distribution lines installation in Germany and Austria.
