SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
The Transaction concerns the acquisition of sole control over Vertex Bioenergy S.L. (“Vertex”) by DWS Alternatives Global Limited (“DWS”) in its capacity as investment manager of PEIF III.
DWS, ultimately controlled by Deutsche Bank AG (“DB”), is an asset management company with a wide investment portfolio, which includes investments in infrastructure assets in Europe.
Vertex is a producer of bioethanol with facilities in Spain and France. In connection with its bioethanol production, Vertex also produces dried distillers grains with solubles (or DDGS), carbon dioxide, corn oil, and electricity.
