SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
(1) On 13 October, 2015, the Commission received notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 by which Willis Group Holdings plc (“Willis”) intends to acquire sole control of Towers Watson & Co. (“Towers Watson”) within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) if Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004. The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
• Willis: global provider of insurance brokerage, reinsurance brokerage and risk management consulting.
• Towers Watson: global provider of consulting, technology and solutions in benefits, talent management and rewards, risk and financial services, and exchange solutions.
