1.2 Provide a summary (up to 500 words) of the information provided under Section 1.1. It is intended that this summary will be published on the Commission's website at the date of notification. The summary must be drafted so that it contains no confidential information or business secrets.

Costa Crociere S.p.A., Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and Marinvest s.r.l. have agreed to set up a newly incorporated company, Roma Cruise Terminal s.r.l. (RCT), whose purpose will be to build and manage a cruise terminal at the port of Civitavecchia, 100 kilometers north of Rome, pursuant to the terms of the concession granted by the Port Authority of Civitavecchia on 14 October 2005.

The three cruise companies intend to invest in the creation of a modern cruise terminal that will offer to passengers all the services normally available at other cruise terminals.

RCT will operate on the market for cruise terminals, performing the functions normally carried out by undertakings operating on such a market and providing in a neutral manner its services to all cruise operators wishing to use the Civitavecchia cruise terminal.
