Description of the concentration
Deutsche Bahn AG (ìDBî) intends to acquire sole control over English Welsh & Scottish Railway Holdings Limited (ìEWSî).
-• DB is the German state-owned group of companies providing a range of services including passenger transport as well as freight forwarding and logistics (in particular through its Railion and Schenker business units) in Europe and worldwide.
-• EWS is a UK-based undertaking active primarily in land freight forwarding by rail in the UK and in France.
The proposed concentration concerns the markets for national and international freight forwarding and logistics services.
