SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 1 December 2006, the Commission received the notification of a proposed
concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Regulation (EC) No. 139/2004 (the Merger
Regulation) by which The Boeing Company (United States of America)(ìBoeingî) will
acquire sole control over C-MAP (Italy)(ìC-MAPî) by way of share purchase.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are as follows:
Boeing: commercial aircraft, defence and space industries and related services. Boeingís wholly-owned subsidiary Jeppesen Sanderson, Inc. is active in the provision of a variety of services, primarily in the aviation sector.
C-MAP: supply of electronic marine charts and related products and services.
