SECTION 1.2

Description of the concentration

TE designs, manufactures and markets over 500,000 electronic products that connect and protect the flow of power and data inside products for customers in a range of applications including: automotive, non-automotive transportation, industrial and defence. TE's business comprises three key segments:

(i) Transportation Solutions: the supply of products for use in transportation systems for the automotive, aerospace, defence and marine industries, including connectors, relays, sensors, heat-shrink tubing, high performance wire and cable solutions;

(ii) Network Solutions: the supply of infrastructure products for telecommunication and energy networks, including copper and fibre network connectivity products and closures, copper and fibre optic structured cabling, and associated hardware and accessories; and

(iii) Communications and Industrial Solutions (CIS): the supply of equipment and device connectivity products such as connectors, cable assemblies, relays, antennas, circuit protection devices and touch screens.
