SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On November 3rd , 2006, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of the EC Merger Regulation, by which Ricoh Europe B.V. (ìRicohî) will acquire sole control over the European operations of Danka Business Systems plc (ìDankaî)
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
• For Ricoh: production and distribution of office automation products and related services;
• For Danka: distribution of office automation products and related services.
The Partiesí activities overlap only in the wholesale distribution of photocopiers, printers and fax machines in several EEA countries, Ricoh being also active in the upstream production markets.
