SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 26 April 2011, the European Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 (the “EUMR”), by which Advent International Corporation (“Advent”), through certain funds (which are managed or advised by Advent), intends to acquire within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EUMR sole control over Towergate Partnership Limited, Cullum Capital Ventures Limited, Countrywide Insurance Management Limited and Powerplace Insurance Services Limited, (together, “Towergate”) through the grant of certain contractual rights.
The business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
− Advent: globally active private equity investor holding, through certain funds, investments across a range of industries.
− Towergate: provider of insurance intermediary services in the United Kingdom.
