Description of the concentration

The notified concentration involves the acquisition of sole control by SIGMA ALIMENTOS, S.A. de C.V. (“SIGMA”) over CAMPOFRÍO FOOD GROUP, S.A. (“CAMPOFRÍO”).

SIGMA announced its intention to launch a public takeover bid for all shares in CAMPOFRÍO on 14 November 2013. CAMPOFRÍO is a Spanish-based company that manufactures and sells processed meat products in the EU and the US. SIGMA is a Mexican-based company that manufactures and sells refrigerated and frozen food products, mainly in Mexico, other Latin American countries and the US. It forms part of the Mexican ALFA Group.
