SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
The notification concerns the creation of a full function joint venture, DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol LLC (ìDDCEî or the ìJVî), which will be jointly controlled by E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company (ìDuPontî) and Danisco U.S., Inc. (ìDaniscoî). The rationale for the JV is to develop and commercialize various technology packages for the manufacture of ethanol from sustainable cellulosic feedstocks. The JV will compete in a market that does not today exist, i.e., the market for cost effective technology packages used to produce biofuels from waste agricultural and other sustainable cellulosic feedstocks.
