SECTION 1.2
Description of the concentration
On 23 November 2017, the Commission received notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) 139/2004 (the "EUMR") involving the acquisition by ENGIE S.A. ("ENGIE") of indirect sole control of IPM Energy Trading Limited ("IPMETL") and International Power Fuel Company Limited ("IPFC") within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) of the EUMR.
The primary business activities of the undertakings concerned are:
(a) ENGIE: ENGIE is a French-listed global energy player active across the entire energy-value chain in the fields of gas, electricity and energy services; and
(b) IPMETL: IPMETL provides energy trading services to the wholesale gas and power markets in Great Britain.
(c) IPFC: IPFC provides natural gas shipping services in Great Britain.
